·         SBSTA (44th session, May 2016) report to COP and then to make recommendations at COP26 to elaborate technology framework

·         SBI (44th session, May 2016) elaborate scope and modalities for periodic assessment of technology mechanism in supporting the implementation of the agreement and modalities for the global stocktake for consideration and adoption by COP25

·         Capacity building work plan 2016-2020

·         SBI to develop TOR for Paris committee on capacity building to recommend a draft decision at COP22

·         Parties to submit their views on membership of the Paris committee on capacity building by 9 March 2016 to be compiled by the secretariat for May 2016 SBI44

·         Two high-level champions appointed by President of the COP (serving for 2 years, with 1 year overlapping with the next) to facilitate strengthened high-level engagement 2016-2020. French Presidency to appoint one champion to serve for one year until last day of COP22, Morrocan Presidency should appoint one champion to serve for two years from the date of appointment until last day of COP23, subsequently each COP Presidency should appoint one champion to serve for two years.

·         Invites observer organisations to submit information for the technical  examination on adaptation by 3 Feb 2016

·         Facilitative dialogue at COP22 on pre 2020 ambition to enhance finance and pre 2020 mitigation efforts

2017, COP23

 

·         Adaptation Committee to review adaptation institutional-arrangement in 2017 to prepare recommendations for COP26

·         SBSTA to provide advice of how the IPCC can inform the global stocktake of the implementation of the agreement to report to COP23

 

2018, COP24

·         Facilitative dialogue to take stock of collective efforts toward net zero (short-hand!)2018 to inform preparation of nationally determined contributions (re-(upwardly revised-)submission for those to 2030 or additional for those whose first commitment is to 2025)

·         IPCC to provide a special report in 2018 on impacts of global warming of 1.5C

·         SBSTA to develop modalities for the accounting of financial resources provided and mobilised through public interventions to make recommendations for consideration at COP24 and adoption at COP26

·         APA to develop recommendations for common modalities, procedures and guidelines as appropriate for transparency of action and support for consideration at COP24 and adoption at COP26.

 

2019, COP25

 

·         COP25 to review progress of Paris Committee on Capacity building with a view to make recommendations of appropriate action and on enhancing institutional arrangements for COP26

 

2020, COP26

 

NB: many of the recommendations that should be prepared for COP26 do not yet have a start date for their preparation. If a start-date is specified for recommendations for COP26 they are listed under the relevant year above.

 

·         Communicate by (9-12 months before the relevant COP) 2020 a new NDC for those whose commitment period is to 2025

·         Communicate or update by (9-12 months before the relevant COP) 2020 an NDC for those whose commitment period is to 2030

·         COP26 to provide guidance to the entities entrusted with the operation of the financial mechanism of the Convention on policies, programme priorities and eligibility criteria related to the Agreement

·         Assess ways of enhancing implementation of education, awareness etc at COP26

·         Assess the implementation of the capacity building initiative for transparency in the context of the seventh review  of the financial mechanism

·         Maintain existing developed countries existing collective finance mobilisation goal to 2025
